Concierge Counseling with Joel Schmidt

Our virtual Concierge Counseling Package is a Concierge-style therapy service that is an exclusive program for busy, high achieving professionals - executives, athletes, entrepreneurs, celebrities, and other working professionals. They have a lifestyle and profile that demands privacy, flexibility, and increased access to your provider when needed.

With the concierge counseling package, you’ll be working with a therapist who sees less clients than most. This allows for more accessibility, more flexibility, and the ability to get your time in each month on your schedule - even when travel, last-minute meetings, and other obligations make it hard to meet with a therapist the same time each week.

Our Concierge Therapist (Joel Schmidt, MA, LMHC) might be for you if you’re feeling stuck, dealing with anxiety, struggling with relationship or family challenges, finding it hard to regulate your emotions, coping with stress in unhealthy ways, struggling with “Imposter Syndrome”, reevaluating where you’re at in life and where to go from here, unsure how to manage time and priorities through the chaos, finding it hard to navigate your business or career, struggling to prioritize important things (such as health, fitness, or family), having a hard time dealing with some unresolved issues from the past, or just generally wanting to become the best version of yourself with some support from a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a “Coaching” style.

What the Program Costs and Includes:

For a flat monthly payment of $1200, the Concierge Program includes: Four 60-75 minute counseling sessions each month, direct access to your provider, flexibility in scheduling, and the ability to make up missed or canceled appointments without an additional cost or no-show fee. This package is month-to-month without any need to make a long-term commitment. Call or send us a message to set up a complimentary virtual consultation to have any of your questions about the program answered.

Who it’s for:

This package might be for you if you’re invested in your personal growth and motivated to “do the work”, but have a hard time finding the time with all of the chaos and have an increased need for highly individualized attention and flexibility.  Perhaps you’d be okay without therapy, but you know there are some things you need to address that you’ve been putting off or avoiding. For you, trying to find time to make it through traffic to get to an office at the same time each week, just isn’t ideal. The concierge program allows for longer session times when needed, the ability to break up session time throughout the week or month, and extra communication and support between sessions by phone, encrypted email, or text (although encrypted email and phone are most secure in nature).  Your therapist will only take on a limited amount of clients at a time, which ensures you are working with someone who has the time and who is not overly burdened by paperwork or high caseloads that can sometimes make special attention and communication difficult. This is currently only being offered to clients who live and spend most of their time in the State of Florida, as licensing laws currently prevent practicing across state lines.

The Approach

Joel takes a collaborative and solution-focused/actively-engaged approach that aims to get to the bottom of what’s going on and to set measurable actionable goals and objectives together. Joel draws from evidence-based practices that include CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) with the goals of improving your relationship with your thoughts, communicating in healthier and more effective ways, more mindfully reacting to situations, better tolerating anxiety/stress, and working to take actions in life that are aligned with your true core values.

Who it’s not for:

This program might not be for you if your needs for mental health support are intensive or beyond what can be offered safely in an outpatient virtual setting. Examples: debilitating anxiety, depression that makes it difficult to function, frequent suicidal ideation, and highly problematic substance use/abuse. We are happy to make referrals recommendations to ensure you find support you need in the most appropriate setting. Additionally, if you are frequently out-of-state for travel, it may be difficult to meet your needs while staying compliant with state-to-state licensing laws. New legislation projected to go into effect late in 2024 may solve this problem, but is not yet active.

Limitations:

Although this program allows for increased access and flexibility, late evening and weekend availability (Friday-Sunday) may be limited and your therapist may not be on-demand at all times due to other personal or professional obligations.. Additionally, although there is no penalty for missed or canceled appointments, there may be times when making up session time in the same week is contingent upon available time slots - especially in cases where it is already later in the week. The same rate applies for a month, whether fully utilized or not and your therapist will do his best to accommodate with consideration for the priority that your package includes. Questions about terms or other limitations - such as the amount of monthly access - can be answered through a consultation call with Joel and will be outlined in initial paperwork.
