About Joe
My name is Joe and I’ve been a therapist for almost 10 years. I have extensive experience in helping clients with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, PTSD, and self-esteem. I also work with couples on rekindling their relationships, finding new ways to connect, understanding each other better, and finding ways to share their opinions in a productive manner.
Why I became a counselor.
My fascination with psychology began when I took Psychology 101 in undergraduate studies. I was curious about motivations behind behaviors, specifically my own, and saw the added benefit of helping others.
In my free time I enjoy riding my motorcycle, working out, and reading fiction. I moved back to Tampa in 2022 after living in Pensacola for the past 8 years.
Education, Experience, and Approach.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida since 2020. I earned my master’s degree in 2016 and my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Spring Hill College in 2013. My primary modality of therapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and I also utilize aspects of Art Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. In my couples & marriage counseling work, I primarily utilize Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) as well as Gottman Therapy..
I view therapy as a collaborative approach in which I help the client on a journey to bettering themselves. I aim to create a safe and comfortable environment in which the client feels able to speak freely and without being judged. I look forward to working with you and helping you on your journey to a better you.
