Specialized Anxiety Therapy for Panic, OCD, and Chronic Worry

Anxiety That Feels This Persistent Needs More Than General Therapy

Specialized, evidence-based treatment for anxiety, panic, OCD, phobias, and chronic worry — virtual sessions throughout Florida and South Carolina.

If breathing exercises and positive thinking haven’t helped, there’s a good reason.

When anxiety becomes persistent, physical, or starts organizing your life around it, generic coping skills aren’t enough.

I’m Joel — a licensed therapist specializing exclusively in anxiety disorders. Not a clinic, not a platform. Focused, one-on-one work with people dealing with disordered anxiety.

I’ve worked with people who spent years in therapy with little progress before finding an approach that actually fit. The difference isn’t effort — it’s specificity. You don’t just need someone to listen. You need a structured, evidence-based approach designed for how anxiety actually works.

Why this approach works when others haven't

Most instinctive ways of managing anxiety – avoiding situations, seeking reassurance, trying to control your thoughts — tend to make it stronger over time, even when done with the best intentions. This is why anxiety can feel so persistent and confusing, even when you’re trying hard to fix it.
The approach I use is built on techniques with strong research support, specifically designed for how anxiety works. Rather than just talking about it, the work focuses on gradually changing how your brain and nervous system respond to the things that trigger anxiety. Over time, those alarms start to fire less loudly — and less often.
This isn’t traditional talk therapy. You’ll leave sessions with a clear direction and real things to work on. The goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety. It’s to stop letting it make decisions for you.
You don’t have to wait for anxiety to go away before you start living the way you want to live.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much will it cost and do you take insurance?

Sessions are $235 – although sliding scale options may be available. Many clients are able to get a meaningful portion reimbursed through out-of-network insurance benefits — I can help you verify that during or after your consultation. HSA and FSA funds can also be applied.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes, all sessions are conducted via secure virtual sessions to clients all throughout Florida and South Carolina.

What happens during the Free Consultation?

You’ll meet with me for 15–20 minutes. We’ll briefly talk about what’s going on, you can ask any questions you have, and we’ll make sure the approach is a good fit. No pressure, no commitment. I can also help verify out-of-network insurance benefits if you’d like.

How often do we meet and how long will therapy take?

Once a week is most common to start, though the pace is entirely up to you. This approach is structured and goal-focused by design. Most people start noticing real movement within the first several weeks.

What if I’ve tried therapy before and it did not work?

That’s very common for people dealing with panic, OCD, and anxiety that feels physical or relentless. Most therapists are trained to help with general stress and life challenges, but these specific patterns respond best to a more targeted approach. If therapy hasn’t worked before, it’s likely the method wasn’t matched to what you were actually dealing with. That’s exactly what this is designed for.

How does it work?

We help you gradually face the things that trigger anxiety while learning to respond to them differently. Instead of getting pulled inward (trying to control thoughts or symptoms) the focus is on handling anxiety more effectively and staying engaged in your life. As your brain learns that these triggers aren’t dangerous, the alarm starts to settle. This isn’t you talking while I listen. You’ll feel like you have direction from the very first session.

Do I need to feel ready to start?

No. Most people don’t feel fully ready when they begin. This work is designed to help you move forward even when anxiety is present, rather than waiting for it to go away first. You’ll be in control of the process, move at a pace that feels manageable, and have a say in what you take on and when. We’ll guide it together in a structured way.
